Reiki is a non-invasive technique that promotes healing by releasing congestion from energy centres to enable a good flow of energy in the body.

It is administered by hands-on gentle touch and hands-off (hovering) on the major energy centers (chakras) of the body.

It is based on the idea of channeling universal light and love through a practitioner to a client, and was developed in China around 1922 by a Buddhist monk, Dr Mikao Usui, who wanted to find a method of healing that was unattached to any specific religion and accessible to everyone.
